There are rumors that things are not going well between India’s coach Gautam Gambhir and star player Hardik Pandya. This comes ahead of their last group match against Oman on September 19 in Dubai.
India has already qualified for the Super Four of the Asia Cup 2025 after big wins against UAE and Pakistan in Dubai. After the controversy over India not shaking hands, a heated conversation between Pandya and Gambhir during practice caught everyone’s attention.
During practice in Dubai, Gambhir and Pandya were seen having a serious conversation. Pandya, known for his aggressive style, was gesticulating wildly while making his points. This has led to speculation that a big change in strategy might be coming for the Oman match.
Gambhir also spent time with Jasprit Bumrah during training, so India will probably play their top bowler in the last group game.
As for the Asia Cup 2025 standings, it’s been an emotional ride with some teams doing well and others not so much. Pakistan’s win against UAE got them into the Super 4s along with India in Group A.
India is the only team that hasn’t lost and has a huge net run rate of +10.483. Pakistan is second with 4 points after a dramatic week. Unfortunately, UAE and Oman are out of the tournament.
