With everything said and done about the Asia Cup 2025, the tournament ended on a controversial note amid an escalation with India and Pakistan after the Men in Blue clinched the title for the ninth time with a nerve-wracking final. Keeping calm under pressure, Tilak Varma led India to a five-wicket victory, marking Pakistan’s third humiliation at Indian hands.
Following India’s emphatic win, Prime Minister Narendra Modi subtly taunted Pakistan with a post on Operation Sindoor as he basked in the glory of India’s triumph over their rival.

Mohsin Naqvi reacts to PM Modi with a crass retort
The tweet, however, enraged Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman PCB and ACC, who then returned quite crassly and baselessly to the Prime Minister of India.
“If war was your measure of pride, history already records your humiliating defeats at Pakistan’s hands. No cricket match can forever change that truth. Bring war into sport, and you are only revealing your desperation and disgracing the spirit of the game.”
Indian Team Humiliates Naqvi after winning the Asia Cup
Once the Indian final triumphant against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side refused to takethe trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, who, a few days earlier, had insulted India with that unnecessary story. Naqvi kept waiting, as the Indian side refused to accept the medals and trophy from him; eventually, after some time, the Chairman ran away with the trophy.
Even before the final, India had informed the ACC officials that they wouldn’t entertain Naqvi on the dais and wouldn’t accept the trophy from him, but the Chairman, being aware of the real situation, decided to wait and eventually take the trophy with him, further escalating the matter.
