The Mumbai Indians, champions of IPL five times, There they held a player-retention ceremony and unveiled their jersey for IPL 2025 on Friday as the one-time champions vie for the sixth title after a year of great disappointment in IPL 2024.
While unveiling the jersey, Hardik Pandya expressed his gratitude to the fans, promising to be the torchbearers of the proud legacy of the franchise along with the team core comprising former captain Rohit Sharma, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma.
The fifth title for the Mumbai Indians came in 2020, converting six titles into a wish as the IPL 2025 season launches on March 22.
“Dear Paltan, 2025 is our opportunity to bring the legacy where it belongs. With the blue & gold on us, we will take the field to Play like Mumbai. This is not just our jersey. This is a promise to you. Chala bhetu, Wankhede la, “said Hardik Pandya.
Mumbai’s jersey for IPL 2025 retains the iconic and trademark blue and gold colours symbolic of the essence of the franchise. “Blue signifies trust, confidence, and boundless potential of the team, while gold signifies glory, achievement, and relentless pursuit of excellence,” the press release of Mumbai Indians stated.

The campaign for IPL 2025 will see Mumbai face old rivals Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, March 23, in an evening game.
Mumbai will go without a game for six days before heading to Ahmedabad for another contest against Sindh on March 29. Pandya led the Gujarat Titans to victory in IPL 2022.
Mumbai’s first home game will take place two days after the game against Gujarat, and it will also see them take on the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on March 31.
On April 7, Mumbai will squad up against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in yet another classic match between Rohit and Kohli at home. Again, they will come up against Chennai on Sunday evening, April 20, at home.
The Mumbai Indians will have a huge task ahead for IPL 2025 as they search for a better run after finishing at the bottom with just four wins in the 14 games played in IPL 2024.
