The day today saw the announcement of maybe one of the career opens for the England side. However, the news came forward that due to paternity leave for Salt, he’ll be missing the three-match T20I series against the West Indies that will commence on June 6. The England Cricket Board had to say it all and announce that Salt will be out due to this important family reason.
Jamie Smith is the one getting called for the team to fill Salt’s shoes as a like-for-like replacement. Hence, it is a bit of a blow for England, especially since Salt was lately outstanding for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025, piling up 403 runs at a very good average and strike rate.
England hopes never to miss much when Salt is away, with Tom Banton or Jamie Smith filling his slot in the order. Capable enough are Harry Brook and Jos Buttler, with support from Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, and Jacob Bethell. Ahead of them, the experienced pace bowlers Brydon Carse, Adil Rashid, Saqib Mahmood, and Luke Wood will be expected to carry the bowling attack.
