Arshdeep Singh has done his bit in getting Punjab Kings into the playoffs of IPL 2025, picking up 16 wickets in 12 matches and averaging 21.93 per wicket. The left-handed pacer is yet to make his debut at the Test level, but fans and critics alike are demanding the inclusion of him into the Indian set-up for the busy England tour ahead. Even the Bowling Coach of Punjab Kings, James Hopes, feels Arshdeep needs to go to England since his style suits the conditions there.
In an interaction with Times of India, the former Australian pacer heaped praise upon Arshdeep, terming him as an excellent choice for the England tour as he can swing the ball both ways and also do reverse swing when required. He added, “He’s a left-arm seamer who can bowl around the wicket and still move it away from right-handers.”
Hopes further added that Arshdeep is willing to learn new things and experiment with his bowling. “Arshdeep is very skilled and easy to coach. He’s open to experimenting with different approaches. It’s not common for talented players to want to change things up, but he’s constantly asking questions and trying to tweak little things since he’s been in the game long enough for people to know what he usually does.”
