After wrapping up his IPL season, Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter, shared on Tuesday that he wants to take a break for a few days before heading to England for the Test tour. Pant had a standout performance, scoring a fantastic century—118 runs off 61 balls—leading Lucknow Super Giants to a total of 227 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last league match. Despite Pant’s innings, RCB pulled off a thrilling win thanks to Jitesh Sharma’s explosive 85 runs from 33 balls and Mayank Agarwal’s quick 41 off 23. Their partnership of 107 runs for the fifth wicket helped RCB reach Qualifier 1.
“I just want to switch off for a few days, not think about cricket. The England series is coming up, and I want to be ready for that,” Pant said during the presentation ceremony. He also expressed disappointment about the key bowlers missing a lot of games this season due to injuries.

“You need to play 40 good overs. Just 20 won’t cut it in a T20 match, and that’s been our story. We had several injury issues before the tournament, and it really affected us,” Pant added.
Mohsin Khan missed the whole season for LSG, while Mayank Yadav spent much of the tournament on the bench. He came back for a bit but got sidelined again with another back injury.

After a tough season, Pant finally found his groove, hitting 11 fours and eight sixes in his innings. “I was feeling better with every match, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. Today, I made sure that if I got a good start, I would go big, like the experienced players do,” Pant explained. He focused on how the bowlers were bowling and played smart, looking for gaps.
“I kept it simple and played each ball with the same intensity throughout the innings,” he said.
