Master Blaster’s Record at the MCG
The Mumbai batter played five Tests at the MCG, scoring 449 runs in 10 innings at an average of 44.90, including a ton and three fifties. Tendulkar’s run tally is the highest among Indian batters at this iconic venue.
His only Test century at the MCG came in a losing cause, though it was a fighting knock in the 1999 Boxing Day Test. Tendulkar was the captain of India, and he led from the front when other batters didn’t turn up. He scored 116 runs off 191 balls.
