On Tuesday, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced some exciting news: the famous Wankhede Stadium will host the T20 Mumbai League 2025! This tournament is a big deal in India’s domestic cricket scene and is set to return for its third season from May 26 to June 8. The T20 Mumbai League is great for spotting fresh talent, giving young players a chance to shine and possibly become the next big stars in cricket.
In past seasons, we’ve seen some incredible talent emerge, like Shivam Dube, Tushar Deshpande, and Shams Mulani, who have all made their mark in T20 cricket. It’s been thrilling to watch them grow and excel, and we’re excited to see what this season will bring.
In a heartwarming move, the MCA will invite underprivileged kids and students from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools to join in on the action at the games. This is a fantastic opportunity for these kids to witness live matches during the 14-day tournament, which will feature eight teams putting their skills to the test.
MCA President Ajinkya Naik shared his thoughts, saying, “The T20 Mumbai League has really changed the game for cricket in our city and India. The last two seasons saw players give amazing performances, making waves at the national level. We want young kids to see these stars up close while they’re playing. It’s inspiring, and we hope it encourages them to dream big.”
