IPLs 2025 are coming up! On June 3, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will meet Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. According to the original schedule, the final was to be held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. But it was moved due to a pause in the tournament after the India-Pakistan scenario.
Fans have been mulling over the change of venue for the final. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla entered the fray to clarify that the change had nothing to do with politics. The playoffs were to be held in Hyderabad and Kolkata, but such plans were shelved for Mullanpur and Ahmedabad instead. Qualifier 1 and Eliminator went smoothly, but Qualifier 2 between PBKS and MI was hit by a two-hour rain delay, raising more questions about the final venue change.

Shukla explained to ANI, “There’s no politics behind this. The broadcasters pointed out bad weather was expected in Kolkata, and if it rained, they would incur losses. They asked for a location with better conditions.” He added, “Changing venues has happened before, so this is nothing new.” The opening ceremony was held in Kolkata as well.
So, the IPL 2025 final is set to be held at Narendra Modi Stadium, where RCB and Punjab Kings will fight for the crown.
