IND-W Vs SL-W: How do the captains access the wicket?
Chamari Athapaththu: We will bowl first. I am pretty confident in the bowling attack on offer. Nice track, but if we can implement timely plans, all should go well. Dew might be one factor. We have 2 off spinners, 2 left-arm spinners, and a seamer, going with 7 batters. The boys had good preparation, playing in the boys’ tournament and domestic tournament under lights. Next 5 games we play in Sri Lanka before the home crowd, which will be a great opportunity.”
Harmanpreet Kaur: “We’ve been looking to bowl first. But first games are always important; we are taking this as a good opportunity. It is looking good. Hopefully, we put a good total on the board. Everyone is fit. We are going with three spinners and two pacers. She’s always been great for us. In the last couple of series, she has been brilliant. Hopefully, she will continue in the World Cup. We just want to play good cricket. That’s what we have been doing for the last few years now. That’s what we want to do.”
