The Barsapara Cricket Stadium is a relatively new venue in India. Located in Assam’s Guwahati, the venue was inaugurated in 2017.
It’s only recently that the Barsapara Cricket Stadium has been hosting international matches. And since 2023, the IPL matches are also taking place at this northeast Indian venue.
The Guwahati venue serves as the second home ground for Rajasthan Royals (RR). The inaugural IPL champions have set a tradition of playing two home games in Guwahati. And they will be back here for another round in IPL 2025.
With that, here’s a look at the IPL records and stats at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

Since the IPL action arrived in 2023, the Barsapara Cricket Stadium has hosted four games. Two of those matches have been won by teams batting first, while once a team has chased down a target.
The average first innings score of 135 might indicate a difficult surface to bat on. But that’s not the case in reality.
The venue has a flat strip, which has thus far seen teams go beyond 190 three times, twice while batting first. Thus, teams might go with batting first after winning the toss and try to hammer 200-plus totals.
There’s much more for batters than bowlers, who might struggle to put a break on the runs.
