Riyan Parag is one of the few cricketers from Assam to make a mark in domestic and international cricket. The all-rounder first impressed everyone at the under-19 level and then entered the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2019 as Rajasthan Royals (RR) handed him a deal.

Riyan Parag IPL Debut
Riyan Parag made his IPL debut in the middle of the 2019 season. He earned his maiden cap for RR while playing against Chennai Super Kings on April 11, 2019 in Jaipur.
Parag couldn’t deliver an impactful performance both with the bat and ball. First, he scored 16 runs in 14 balls and then went wicketless in his three overs, conceding 24 runs.
In his next six matches, Parag hit three 40+ knocks, including a fifty against Delhi, which made him the youngest batter to score a half-century in the league.

Riyan Parag Performance in IPL 2024
Despite being backed to the full tilt by RR, Riyan Parag put up underwhelming performances season after season. But he had a breakout season with the bat in IPL 2024.
Parag amassed 573 runs in 15 matches at an average of 52.09 and an impressive strike rate of 149.22. He slammed four fifties, with his unbeaten 84 against Delhi Capitals being the highest. Parag was the third-highest run-getter in the season.
Riyan Parag Last IPL Match
Riyan Parag’s last IPL appearance came in Qualifier 2 of the 2024 season. RR made it to 2024 Qualifier 2 riding on the back of Parag’s impressive performance throughout the season, but he faltered in the important clash.
RR took on Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 in Chennai, where Parag scored six runs off 10 balls in a failed attempt to chase 176 runs.

Riyan Parag’s IPL Auction Price History
Riyan Parag has been an integral part of RR since 2019. The franchise first bought him for INR 20 lakh in the 2019 auction.
The Royals signed him again in the 2022 auction, with his price tag increasing to INR 3.80 crore. And ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, RR retained Parag for a whopping INR 14 crore.
