It is time for India’s premier red-ball tournament to get underway. The 90th edition of Ranji Trophy is scheduled to get started on October 11. A total of 38 top teams will be taking part in the tournament, divided into two categories. Six teams will be part of the Plate category, while 32 top teams will be part of the Elite category.
There will be 16 games in the plate category and 119 games in the elite category. The tournament will conclude on March 2. The 42-time champion Mumbai will be defending their title in the coming season. They recently won the Irani Cup 2024 as well and are looking strong.
These matches will be hosted all across the country on different venues, which will add different spice to this tournament. It will be a 5-and-a half-month-long tournament, which will give a chance to all those Indian cricketers who want to represent the country in the toughest format of the game.

Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Points Table – Elite Category
A total of 32 teams will take part in the Elite Category. These teams are divided into four groups of 8 teams each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarterfinal. Hence, every game and point are important. Here we will show you the points table of all four groups in the Elite category. You can see the teams according to their current rankings. The 119 matches in the Elite group of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 will be played across 33 venues in India. Every team will play seven games against every team in their group.
