What is the height of the cricket stump?
Cricket stumps are pretty central to the gentleman’s game. Bowlers can dismiss batters by striking the stumps with the bowling.
The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) sets all rules related to our beloved sport, cricket. So they have also formalised the legal height of the cricket stumps.
According to the MCC’s Law 8.2, the stumps height should be 28 inches/71.12 cm above the playing surface, which is the pitch. A stump’s circular section, which is above the surface, should have a diameter of 1.38 inches to 1.5 inches (3.50 cm to 3.81 cm).
The stump height further rises by 0.5 inches when bails are placed on the domed top. The bails are 0.5 inches/1.27 cm in height and 4.31 inches/10.95 cm in length.
What is the distance between 2 stumps?
When a whole set of wicket is placed on one end, the 3 stumps must be placed at a similar distance from each other. The stumps also need to be positioned in such a way that the bails fit between them easily.
So, the gap between the 2 stumps should not be more than 2.13 inches/5.41 cm. The whole set, consisting of 3 stumps and 2 bails, should be 9 inches/22.86 cm in width.

What is the distance between 2 wickets?
As mentioned earlier, a wicket comprises 3 stumps and 2 bails. 2 such wickets are placed on both ends of the pitch.
The distance between these 2 wickets is 22 yards/20.12 meters/66 feet, which is also the standard dimension of a cricket pitch.
What are the different types of stumps?
Primarily, there are 2 types of stumps, which are quite common in international cricket. One of them is traditional wooden stumps, and the other is modern-day LED stumps.
As the name suggests, the wooden stumps are made from wood. You can see wooden stumps used in almost all cricket matches.
On the other hand, LED stumps are the latest innovation in cricket. They are made of composite plastic, with LED bulbs, a mic, and a camera fitted into them. These LED stumps are also now a regular feature in international matches as well as T20 leagues.
