2008 winners Rajasthan Royals (RR) managed to bring back only two-three players from the last year’s IPL squad. While they retained six players, the rest of the squad is filled with new faces. The fans weren’t happy with the squad that was built during the mega auction last year. However, the fans will still support their Pink brigade. In this listicle, we will discuss four overseas players who will complete the playing XI.
Four overseas players will play for RR
1. Shimron Hetmyer
The left-hander was one of the six players retained by the team. Hetmyer plays as a finisher in the team, at number six/seven. His best seasons with the bat were 2022 and 2024 in which he won quite a few games for the team. Given his past performances and his batting at an important middle-order position, he will definitely play for the 2008 winners.
2. Wanindu Hasaranga
The former Sri Lanka T20I captain will play for the Jaipur-based team for the first time. He has previously played for RCB and SRH. In the 2022 season, he was the second highest wicket taker with 26 wickets for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is the only all-rounder in the team which makes him a certainty in the playing XI.
3. Jofra Archer
The 2019 World Cup winner has made his comeback in the team. He has previously played for the Royals from 2018 to 2020. Archer has picked 46 wickets for the team. He is expected to lead the bowling like he used to.

4. Maheesh Theekshana
The Sri Lanka mystery spinner has played for Chennai Super Kings from 2022 to 2024. He was part of the Yellow brigade during their title run in 2023. He has played 27 games and picked 25 wickets. His speciality is to bowl in the powerplay and during the middle overs as well. He can sometimes bowl in the slog overs too. This makes it difficult for the team management to leave him out.
