India will play their Champions Trophy 2025 fixtures in Dubai. It was decided by the ICC after the series of meetings as the Indian government didn’t give the nod to the Men In Blue to travel to Pakistan. This means that while the rest of the tournament will be played in Pakistan, India’s five matches (including the semis and the final which is subject to qualification) will be played in Dubai.
Notably, India skipper Rohit Sharma will reportedly travel to Pakistan for the first time after the Asia Cup 2008. The reason why only Sharma will travel to Pakistan is to attend the opening ceremony which is expected to be held in Lahore. Apart from this, the captain’s photoshoot, which is a norm in every ICC tournament, will be held in Pakistan.
“Indian Team captain will visit Pakistan to attend the opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy as PCB plans grand event, marking the return of a mega international cricket event to Pakistan after 29 years,” sources told IANS.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will begin on February 19 with the semis to be played on March 4 and 5 and the summit clash to be played on March 9. The first semi will be played in Dubai if only India qualifies. Apart from this, if the two-time winners manage to reach the final, then the match will be played in Dubai too.

The two-time T20 World Cup winner didn’t have a great time with the bat in Tests after India clinched the T20 WC in June last year. Recently, the Asian side lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the WTC finals spot to Australia. The 2013 CT winner would like to add another trophy in the cabinet under his captaincy.
Notably, India is yet to announce their squad for the eight-team tournament. The likes of Australia, England, South Africa, etc have announced their team. The Men In Blue are expected to announce their team on January 18. They are probably waiting for Jasprit Bumrah to recover from his recent back injury.
