Yuvraj Singh has been inducted into the International Masters League (IML) after he helped India win the T20 World Cup and is one of the best left-handed batsmen. The IML is going to be played for its first season from February 22 to March 16.
Having defined glorious moments in cricket with shimmer after shimmer of memorable performances, Yuvraj was one of the chief architects of India’s ICC T20 World Cup victory in 2007, more so because of the massacre of six sixes in one over bowled by England’s Stuart Broad.
He was also pivotal to India’s victory in the ODI World Cup of 2011 when he was crowned Player of the Tournament for his all-round performance.
On his comeback to cricket in the India Masters, Yuvraj said, “Walking into the park with Sachin Tendulkar and my other teammates feels like reliving the glory days.”
“So many memories come flooding back when we play alongside all of them. For me, the IML is a tribute to the era that defined Indian cricket, and I can’t wait to create some more unforgettable memories for all the fans who have supported us over the years.”
Along with Yuvraj will be fellow internationals from South Africa and Sri Lanka, JP Duminy and Upul Tharanga respectively.
Duminy shall turn out for the South African Masters, while Tharanga will play for the Sri Lankan Masters.
