The controversy with the Bangladesh Premier League continues. Earlier, the players complained about salary issues, and now the news is that Yesha Sagar, the Indian-origin host, has suddenly left the BPL. Sagar was apparently in violation of some regulations, and she was served a notice, leading to her drastic action.
What is the controversy all about?
Yesha Sagar was well-connected to Chittagong Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025. According to a report in Bangladeshi news portal Cricket97, Sagar was served with a legal notice by Sameer Kader Chowdhury, the franchise owner, for breach of contract-related terms.
Samir Kader Chowdhury stated in his notice: “According to clause 9 of the contract, you (Yesha) did not honour your commitments and, despite being duly invited, did not show up for the dinner with the sponsors. You also avoided the sponsors’ shoot and promotion. Your continued absence has caused the franchise (Chittagong Kings) both financial and reputational losses.” Instead of attending to the notice, Sagar has completely stepped away from the tournament
