As holders of the tournament, hosts Pakistan will again be one of the contenders to win the Champions Trophy 2025. The Men from Green will kick off their campaign on Wednesday (February 19) against New Zealand, in this match that will be held at the National Stadium in Karachi. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side had sent a big warning to rival teams through the hammering of Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa during three-back-to-back-away ODI series last year, but unbelievably fell against New Zealand in a shocking defeat in both the first and last match of the tri-series held last week at home.
The Pakistani team will have on mind a score to settle against the Kiwis on Wednesday before heading to Dubai for a high-voltage encounter against India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, February 23, as part of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Pakistan would be looking to become the second team after Australia to successfully defend the title, but here’s where the really hard work will begin for the Men in Green since this country is known for its unpredictability.
