Simon Biles, the seven time gold medalist, grabbed a historic ninth all round crown on Sunday (2 June) at the 2024 U.S. gymnastics championship in Fort Worth, Texas. This has got her on board with her quest for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, set to begin in less than two months.
Simon Biles made a total of 119.750, nearly six points closer to Skye Blakely (113,850) and Kayla Dicello (110.800) was third.

She expressed her excitement, saying, “Today, it was just getting out there and getting comfortable and confident in my gymnastics and hopefully going to Olympic trials and making that next step towards Paris,”
Biles told U.S. broadcaster NBC afterward. I couldn’t be more proud of how I’m doing this time of the year, just getting that confidence. Over and over, getting myself back in front of the crowd. And just doing what I do in practice.”
The Olympic all round champion, Sunila Lee, competed in all four events for the first time in elite gymnastics since taking a gold medal at Tokyo 2020. She finished in fourth place with a score of 110.650. On the other hand, the two time world all medalist Shilese Jones withdrew from the event because of a shoulder injury on Friday (May 31).
Simone Biles is already the winner of the most US crowns in history, with a total of eight (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2023). The undaunted victory by Biles extends her record to nine, making another history. She surpassed the 60.000-point mark on Friday night for the first time since the 2021 U.S. Olympic trials, showing her talent.

On the competition’s second day, she scored 15.000 on vault, 14.400 on uneven bars, 14.800 on balance beam, and 15.100 on floor exercise. All her performances have been without any flaws, with the only error being the overrotated vault, yet she still won.
