There is no limit to a father’s love and faith, and Babar Azam’s father did the same by throwing his support behind the child after he was. left out of the list of players who would participate in the upcoming series between Pakistan and New Zealand for the T20I matches.
Since the exit of Pakistan from the Champions Trophy 2025, Babar has been at the receiving end of all sorts of critiquing. The most recent of it all saw the star batter being dropped from the PAK squad traveling for the tour to New Zealand.
Babar’s father also was discontented with the decision and the backlash by everyone against PAK star, that he would come back performing from the Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL.
“The boss is always right. Even after being a member and receiving a cap for the ICC T20 Team of the Year, he got dropped. No worries, he will perform in the National T20 and PSL, Inshallah, and will soon be back in the team,” Babar’s father, Siddique, wrote in a post on Instagram.
Siddique further asked ‘respected former players’ to ‘choose their words with care’, and should not go around words on regarding his son.
“But I request the respected former players, who are big names, to choose their words carefully. If someone responds, they might not be able to handle it. You are the past, and your doors will never open again,” Siddique added.
“People say that the father talks too much, but I am the first and final coach, spokesperson, mentor, and best well-wisher and father all in the world. So those not worthy or capable should have patience.
I urge cricket lovers to please refrain from shouting and uproar. Listen to others’ words after checking from the PCB website about their performances in their time. This should be enough for wise people. Long live Pakistan!’ added Babar’s father.
Pak skipper Mohammad Rizwan is also missing from the T20I squad due to his removal for the New Zealand tour, along with Babar Azam. He was replaced by Salman Ali Agha as the captain of the squad. Five T20Is and three ODIs are scheduled to take place during the white-ball tour of New Zealand starting on March 16 and ending on April 5.
