Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who won last year’s Indian Premier League (IPL),kept most of their winning team. They swapped out a few players to fill spots. In the 2025 season, KKR needs the new guys to fit right in and keep the wins coming.
Sunil Narine, who was the MVP last season, will probably open the batting with either Quinton de Kock, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, or Luvnith Sisodia, who is the only Indian option for that spot. Ajinkya Rahane, the new captain, will likely bat at number three because he’s done well up there for other IPL teams.
The middle order is pretty set with Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, and Ramandeep Singh bringing the power. Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Anukul Roy, and Moeen Ali can move around the batting order, depending on who’s opening. Manish Pandey is another choice.
KKR has some great Indian fast bowlers, with Harshit Rana leading the way alongside either Anrich Nortje or Spencer Johnson. Varun Chakravarthy, who’s been a reliable T20 bowler for India recently, is definitely in. Narine and Russell can bowl too.
Ramandeep and Venkatesh, plus Anukul and Moeen, can bowl if needed. Vaibhav Arora might come in as a sub to bowl since KKR has lots of choices for any situation.
KKR’s probable playing XI for IPL 2025: Quinton de Kock (WK), Sunil Narine, Ajinkya Rahane (C), Venkatesh Iyer (VC), Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh, Anukul Roy, Harshit Rana, Anrich Nortje and Varun Chakravarthy
Impact player: Angkrish Raghuvanshi/Vaibhav Arora
