New Zealand gets another setback following their knockout from the world cup the former Captain Kane Williamson has decided to step down as the captain and has also declined the central contract for 2024-2025.
The 33 year old player decided not to go down as the captain for the national matches and white ball Captaincy but following an early exit from his white ball career captaincy emphasized his long-term commitment to the Blackcaps.

In ODIs, he has 6,810 runs in 165 matches, averaging 48.64 with 13 centuries. In T20Is, with 18 half centuries he has 2,575 runs in 93 games, averaging 33.44. His consistent batting and fielding skills make him a key player for New Zealand.
