On Friday, June 21, the South African team officially announced the upcoming bilateral series with the Indian team. With the schedule confirmed by the BCCI, the Indian team will be traveling to South Africa twice in a row, first just after the T20 World Cup concludes. Additionally, India is set to play a five-day series against Zimbabwe in Harare, starting on July 6, 2024.

As the schedule comes out, Team India is set for a packed lineup of tournaments and will definitely be busy following this hectic schedule. The Men in Blue will be visiting South Africa twice in a row. With the matches scheduled from November 8, 2024, India will be traveling to Zimbabwe for a four-day series planned after the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in November. These four T20Is will be hosted in Gqeberha, Centurion, and Johannesburg until November 15.
Namibia Captain Invites Team India for Windhoek Layover
Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus reposted the official tweet of the Proteas team and requested Team India to have a layover in Windhoek on its way to South Africa. The Tweet read as-”Hey @BCCI , warm-up in Windhoek? ” as the Indian team is set to travel to the rainbow nation for a four-match T20 series across various venues in November.

India’s tour of South Africa will feature four T20I matches beginning on November 8 in Durban and will conclude on November 15 in Johannesburg. This series is nestled between India’s home series against New Zealand and the highly anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy tour in 2024-25, adding to the demanding schedule for the Men in Blue.
Why Did Captain Erasmus Want a Warm-up Match?
Having played in the T20 World for the third time and unable to make it to the super 8 stage, the captain was a bit upset over the same. Namibia secured only one win in the whole group B of the ongoing T20 World Cup over Oman. So the captain Gerhard Erasmus, along with other leaders from associate nations, has called for more matches against full-member teams throughout the year to help them improve and compete more effectively in global tournaments.
