Mark Chapman, the New Zealand cricket player, won’t be playing in the third and final ODI against Pakistan at Bay Oval. He’s still working on getting back to full health after a minor hamstring issue. According to New Zealand Cricket (NZC), Chapman missed the second ODI in Hamilton because of a little tear he picked up during the first match in Napier. An MRI showed it was a grade one tear, which means he needs some time to recover.

Initially, there was hope that he would be ready to play for the last match in Mount Maunganui on Saturday. However, after a fitness test during practice on Friday, it became clear that he isn’t quite ready, so the team decided not to take any chances with his health. NZC announced that Chapman’s training assessment showed he hadn’t recovered enough to be part of the playing eleven for this crucial final match of the series.
In his place, Tim Seifert, who stepped in for Chapman in Hamilton, will stick around with the team for the third ODI. Seifert had an impressive run recently, earning Player of the Series in the five-match T20I series, where New Zealand triumphed over Pakistan with a score of 4-1. Despite his previous success in T20s, this will be a fresh opportunity for him to make an impact in ODIs, as he hasn’t yet added to his three games in that format.

As for the series so far, the Kiwi team has been performing exceptionally well against Pakistan on their home grounds. They have already claimed the ODI series with a solid 2-0 lead after winning the first ODI by 73 runs and then following it up with an 84-run victory in the second match. New Zealand has clearly shown their dominance in this white-ball series, building on the momentum they gained during the T20 matches.
