Virat Kohli’s withdraw from Test cricket has been difficult for the entire fan base. At the age of 36, he remains one of the best players around. In fact, it was unheard of for this particular player to hang up his boots for that format, especially considering his passion for it being second to none. The lyricist wanted Kohli to reconsider his decision as Indian cricket prepares for an era without him coming:
“Sure, Virat knows what he’s doing but, I’m a fan and very disappointed for this sudden retirement in Tests. I believe he has a lot more cricket left in him. I truly hope he reconsiders,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Obviously Virat knows better but as an admirer of This great player I am disappointed by his rather premature retirement from Test cricket cricket . I think there is still a lot of cricket in him . I sincerely request him to reconsider his decision.

The Test team under Virat’s captaincy was immensely influenced by him. On home grounds in India, he led India to 17 victories out of 22 Tests, with one loss and four draws. Away from home, 11 of their 21 Test wins were under his command, with seven losses and three draws. India grew to become a much more difficult team to face under Virat’s captaincy.

Most of the time, he was adaptable straightaway, a perfect timing for striking the ball, while his solid defence and good timing kept everything in balance.
