With Kohli on the verge of breaking a big record, RCB is set to battle PBKS in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025. The match will take place on Thursday, 29 May, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh. Kohli only requires 31 runs to become the highest run-scorer against PBKS in IPL. Currently, that record is held by David Warner, who has scored 1134 runs from 26 matches at an average of 49.30, with 13 half-centuries. Kohli, meanwhile, has gathered 1104 runs in 34 matches, averaging 36.80.
Interestingly, Kohli and Warner are the only two players to have scored 1000+ runs against Punjab Kings in the IPL.
Here’s a quick look at the top run-scorers against PBKS:
– David Warner – 1134 runs from 26 matches
– Virat Kohli – 1104 runs from 34 matches
– Shikhar Dhawan – 894 runs from 26 matches
– Rohit Sharma – 872 runs from 32 matches
– Faf du Plessis – 831 runs from 20 matches
Kohli has been in great form for RCB throughout the tournament. He’s also fifth in the list of highest run-scorers in IPL 2025, with 602 runs in 13 matches at an average of 60.20 and a striking rate of 147.91, with a highest score of 73 not out.
Just behind rollers Rajat Patidar, RCB finished in second place on the points table, with 19 points at a net run rate of +0.301, and nine wins from 14 matches. PBKS topped the table with the same points but at a net run rate of +0.372.

RCB has been to the IPL final three times – 2009, 2011, and 2016 – but has lost all three. This would be the 4th final for RCB if they beat PBKS in their own backyard.
