Once they hit their stride, there is no stopping England. The Three Lions have enjoyed some very large victories in ODIs, including a 238-run victory against the West Indies at Edgbaston as recently as 2025. Now, we take a look at England’s five biggest ODI victories.
5. 202-run Win Against India, 1975 at Lord’s
In the inaugural World Cup, England made mincemeat of the Indians. Dennis Amiss made 137, and England declared at 334 for four. India were simply not up to the mark in batting, with Sunil Gavaskar making 36 not out off 174 deliveries, as India were all out for 132, giving England a victory by 202 runs.
4. 210-Run Win Against New Zealand, 2015 at Birmingham
This is the point when England transitioned into a white-ball powerhouse. After an early wicket fell, Joe Root made 104 while Jos Buttler clobbered 129 off 77 balls to set a target of 409. New Zealand went down for a paltry 198, losing by 210 runs.
3. 232-Run Win Against Netherlands, 2022 at Amstelveen
Early for some really outrageous England cricket, posting 498/4, with Buttler making 162* off 70. The Dutch just had no answer, giving the English a 232-run victory.
2. 238-Run Win Against West Indies, 2025 at Birmingham
A recent thrashing of the West Indies by the English. With Jacob Bethell leading from the front with 82, England posted 400/8. The bowling attack was on fire, and West Indies could muster a mere 162 in response.
1. 242-Run Win Against Australia, 2018 at Nottingham
What a game! England scored 481/6 with big contributions from Bairstow and Hales. Australia never stood a chance and were all out for 239. England won by 242 runs, their biggest win over Aus.
