Dale Steyn is a true cricketing legend who is so highly respected for what he has contributed toward the development of the sport. He played a pivotal role during his career in South Africa’s success in all formats of the game and has been there in the IPL since the inception until 2020. He has been with four teams in the league, including RCB, for whom he has played five seasons in all, three at the beginning of his career and two toward the end. Now, he has made a funny statement about RCB’s chances for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
After their delightful win against Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1, the fans just went berserk on social media. RCB fans are so passionate, and they do celebrate really big at times. Steyn’s statement, “Can you believe it?!?!?! RCB have won the IPL,” seems to be mocking that level of excitement.

But, one could also see it as a subtle way for him to show love to RCB and respect to the long journey which the team has undertaken, so perhaps one should refrain from making any conclusions and allow Steyn to explain himself.
Now, RCB would await the winner of Qualifier 2, in which Punjab Kings will face Mumbai Indians. The views of several ex-players on RCB winning this year have been out, and the fans hope that the team finally bags the trophy in this 18th season.
