Broad, the acclaimed English fast bowling legend, has arrived and will be working with South Africa as their bowling consultant just before the big WTC final against Australia. His experience of home conditions and excellent record against Australia will surely shine through. For now, Broad is going to be involved with South Africa only for this one game, as Cricket South Africa looks for his insights on preparing their bowlers.
Oddly enough, the commentary on this final will see Broad’s voice, thereby foregoing his involvement with the players on the ground. It will be his first coaching stint after retiring in 2023. Broad took 604 Test wickets, 398 of them in England, providing him with a wide knowledge of exploiting home conditions, especially against Australia.

Broad has done well at Lord’s too, with 113 wickets in 28 matches. So, South African bowlers like Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen will get to learn a great deal about the pitch from him.
This will be South Africa’s first World Test Championship Final, with Australia seeking to clinch their second in succession. It is also the first time the final is being staged at the famous Lord’s Cricket Ground, starting on June 11. The WTC finals were won by New Zealand and Australia in the previous two editions held in 2021 and 2023.
