Jemimah Rodrigues has been picked again by the Brisbane Heat in the WBBL Draft, which was held in Melbourne. She’s a fan favourite there and will join other international stars like Chinelle Henry and Nadine de Klerk, for some solid batting power for WBBL|10.
In the draft, the Sydney Thunder grabbed Chamari Athapaththu from Sri Lanka and South African bowler Shabnim Ismail. They also picked up England’s Heather Knight, making for a strong trio. The Sydney Sixers got Sophia Dunkley and Mady Villiers from England, and New Zealand’s all-rounder Amelia Kerr.
The Adelaide Strikers added England’s Sophie Ecclestone and Tammy Beaumont, and South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt. The Melbourne Stars picked up England’s Amy Jones, South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp, and English talent Dani Gibson.
The Perth Scorchers bolstered their team with New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, England’s Paige Scholfield, and South Africa’s Chloe Tryon. The Hobart Hurricanes went for experienced players, and got England’s Danni Wyatt, Natalie Sciver-Brunt, and Linsey Smith. And the Melbourne Renegades selected West Indian power-hitter Deandra Dottin and English all-rounder Alice Capsey.
