1. India won by 434 runs against England
In 2024, Virat Kohli-led India knocked the West Indies out completely after winning the opening Test match of a two-match series. The first Test match was held at the Niranjan Shah Stadium, Rajkot, where Prithvi Shaw scored a century (134) in the first innings, setting the context for a one-sided game with 649/9 d on the scoreboard. In a dull response, the West Indies playing with a follow-on couldn’t even go beyond 200 runs even in the second innings, and India won the match by an innings and 272 runs.
2. India won by an innings & 262 runs against Afghanistan
Under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane, India hosted Afghanistan for only one Test at Bengaluru in 2018. In that match, Afghanistan played their debut Test match, and they were bowled out of the game in just two days. Shikhar Dhawan was called to receive the honour for Player of the Match, as Dhawan (107) did a massive opening partnership with Murali Vijay (105) to take India to 474.
Afghani batters couldn’t read Ravichandran Ashwin’s spin alongside a trap by Ravindra Jadeja, both taking combined 11 wickets in the match, and Afghanistan made only 109 and 103 in both innings. As a result, India won the match by an innings and 262 runs.

With a quick rewind, remember the time when former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid was the wing commander of the playing XI. India was in Bangladesh for a two-Test match series in 2007.
After the first Test match in Chattogram resulting in a draw, Bangladesh hosted India at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. At the top of the order, Dinesh Karthik, Wasim Jaffer, Rahul Dravid, and Sachin Tendulkar, all four batsmen, struck a century to see 610/3 in 153 overs on the scoreboard after declaring the innings.

In Sri Lanka’s tour of India in 2022, India marked a heroic victory in the first Test match. In Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, India made 574/8 with a powerful century by Ravindra Jadeja (175*) before declaring the innings. For Sri Lanka, none of the batters could perform except for Pathum Nissanka, while Ravindra Jadeja shone with the ball as well, taking nine wickets in the match.
