Karun Nair’s India comeback hasn’t gone as planned. After a long break, he joined the team for this series and hasn’t done well.
Nair didn’t do well in the first two Tests and is now in danger of being dropped. Aakash Chopra, former Indian batsman, thinks this might be his last chance.
After a big win against Ben Stokes’ team in the second Test, India is looking at the third Test at Lord’s. While there have been some great performances, Nair’s struggles in the last two Tests are a big worry.
Even after doing well in domestic games, Nair’s comeback to the Indian team hasn’t worked out. With the third Test coming up, his spot is under threat. Chopra said on his YouTube channel that this could be his last chance.
Will Karun Nair play or won’t he? Will you keep Nitish Kumar Reddy? That’s the question. I’d say give Karun Nair another chance because this is it for him. He played before, scored a triple century and then was dropped. That wasn’t fair at that time, Chopra said.

Nair’s comeback started with a duck. In two Tests, he scored 77 runs at an average of 19.25 with a highest score of 31 in the second Test. Chopra said even with a second chance he didn’t do much.
He scored a lot of runs and got back in the team. He wanted another shot. He went to Vidarbha and he got another chance. But that story will end at some point and this is the match. In the first two Tests we have seen he can bat well but he hasn’t scored many runs, he added.
After two Tests the series is tied 1-1. Before the next Tests which start on July 10, India got a boost with Bumrah’s return. Shubman Gill and the team will try to keep their good form.
