After four years, Jofra Archer is back to play Test cricket for England. The team has announced its squad for the third Test against India in the 2025 tour which will be played at Lord’s.
England are making just one change from the last game with Jofra Archer replacing Josh Tongue. The team announced the squad on their website.
England’s bowling looked weak in the second Test. After India beat them by 336 runs, everyone thought England would make several changes.
Some thought Archer would return, others thought Chris Woakes would be dropped. There was talk of Gus Atkinson being included in the squad because he can bat too. But Atkinson won’t be playing at Lord’s.
Interestingly Archer is replacing the series leading wicket taker. Tongue has taken 11 wickets in two games. Even though Tongue took wickets, the bowling attack didn’t have enough bite to scare the Indian batsmen. Archer’s inclusion is to add that extra something to the bowling attack.
