1. 5 Wickets, 1986
After not winning in ten matches, India finally won at Lord’s Cricket Ground in June 1986. Under Kapil Dev’s captaincy who had an individual brilliant performance, India got their first win. England scored 294 in the first innings. Dilip Vengsarkar (126*) led India’s response, making 341 runs and taking a 47 run lead.
Kapil Dev’s 4/52 spell caused England’s batting to collapse. They managed 180 runs in the second innings. India needed 134 runs and they scored 136/5 to win. Kapil’s 23 not out from 10 balls sealed the deal for India. The Indian captain was Man of the Match.
2. 95 Runs, 2014
India waited 28 years for their second test win at Lord’s. This time MS Dhoni led the team. India batted first and scored 295 runs, Ajinkya Rahane (103) made a century. England scored 319 runs and took a 24 run lead. Gary Ballance scored 110 runs and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 6/82.In the second innings Murali Vijay (95), Ravindra Jadeja (68 off 57) and Bhuvneshwar (52 off 71) all scored fifties and India scored 342. This set a target of 319 for England. Ishant then bowled and took his career best 7/74 and bowled out England for 223 and won by 95 runs. Ishant was Man of the Match.

3. 151 Runs, 2021
The quote “For 60 overs, they should feel hell out there” by Virat Kohli at Lord’s Cricket Ground in 2021 is a famous one in Indian cricket history. There were heated moments between Indian and English players but India won. India was behind by 27 runs in the 2nd innings.
India batted first after being put in by the hosts and scored 364, KL Rahul top scored with 129. England got a 27 run lead, scoring 391 in their 1st innings. Later India struggled when they were 209/8, leading by 182 runs. But Mohammed Shami (56*) and Jasprit Bumrah (34*) added an unbeaten 89 runs, taking India’s total to 298/8 and then declared. This gave India a target of 272 runs in 60 overs.
Indian bowlers fought hard and bowled them out for 120 in 57.5 overs to win the match.
