DPL 2024: Brand Ambassador
Former Indian player and former Delhi player Virender Sehwag was named the brand ambassador for the inaugural season of the Delhi Premier League by the DDCA.
Sehwag is excited to join the Delhi Premier League as a brand ambassador, and at the trophy and t-shirt launch event, Sehwag said, “Delhi has always been close to my heart, and I believe this league will provide a fantastic platform for young and talented cricketers from the region to shine.”
Sehwag further added, “I look forward to being a part of this exciting journey and contributing to the growth of cricket in the capital.”
DDCA President Rohan Jaitley said in the launch event that “the league will celebrate Delhi’s rich heritage.”

For the inaugural season of the Delhi Premier League, big names like Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, and Aayush Badoni are among the top picks. Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma are picked by Purani Dilli 6, while Ayush Badoni is drafted in by South Delhi. The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) announced that the Delhi Premier League will kick off on August 17, 2024, and the final will be on September 8, 2024. All the matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in New Delhi.
What’s the format of the league?
The format of the franchise-based Delhi Premier League will be T20. DDCA announced that the Delhi Premier League for both men’s and women’s cricket will be played in the T20 format. It would follow a round robin format for the tournament and will also gave playoffs right after the league stage of the tournament.
