Harshit Rana, the right-arm seamer, is confident that Team India will win the fifth and final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against England at the Kennington Oval in London.
Karun Nair’s half-century along with his unbeaten partnership with Washington Sundar helped India recover after losing wickets on the first day of the fifth Test against England at The Oval on Thursday. India ended the day at 204/6, Nair (52*) and Sundar (19*) unbeaten, having added 51 runs after the team was struggling at 153/6.
Talking about India’s chances, Harshit Rana told ANI, We have played well throughout this series. We got a draw in the previous test, which felt like a win. We will win the fifth test.”
Before the series Rana was called up for the Test squad against England but was released before the Edgbaston Test. Rana made his debut on India’s tour of Australia in November 2024, taking four wickets in his first Test in Perth and helping India win by 295 runs.

On Day 1 of The Oval Test, England won the toss and chose to field. India had trouble building partnerships, Yashasvi Jaiswal (2) and KL Rahul (14) fell early. Captain Shubman Gill was run out for 21 and Sudharan was dismissed for 38 and put pressure on the top order and Ravindra Jadeja (9) and Dhruv Jurel (19) also fell.
Nair (52*) and Sundar (19*) added 51 runs for the seventh wicket after India was 153/6 and took India past 200. Gus Atkinson (2/31) and Josh Tongue (2/47) were England’s best bowlers.
