Yuvraj Singh was at the ED today. He was questioned in the 1xBet money laundering case.
Singh, 43, arrived at the agency’s Delhi office around noon with his lawyers, wearing a white T-shirt and pants. Officials said he was questioned and his statement was recorded under PMLA. Influencer Anveshi Jain also appeared before the ED for questioning.
In the past few weeks, the ED has questioned former cricketers Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan, Robin Uthappa, former TMC MP and actor Mimi Chakraborty and Bengali actor Ankush Hazra in the case. Actor Sonu Sood has been summoned by the ED for tomorrow.
The 1xBet betting app investigation is part of the ED’s larger probe into these platforms. They are accused of cheating many people of lakhs of rupees and evading huge direct and indirect taxes.

1xBet, registered in Curacao, claims to be a global bookmaker with 18 years in the betting business. The company says customers can bet on thousands of sports events on its website and app which is available in 70 languages.
The agency will question more athletes, actors, influencers and celebrities in the case.
ED might start seizing assets of people who used the crime money from the app’s promotional activities. A chargesheet will be filed in court later, sources say.
According to sources, the agency wants to know how the betting company contacted the celebrities for endorsements, who was the contact person in India, how were they paid (cash through hawala or banking channels), where were the payments made (in India or abroad). The agency is asking the cricketers and actors if they knew online betting and gaming was illegal in India. They’ve been asked to provide copies of their contracts and all related documents with 1xBet.
The agency is also checking how the celebrities used the money to see if any of it can be called crime money under PMLA, sources say.
The Indian government has recently banned real money online gaming with new laws. ED will use targeted approach to probe financial crimes in illegal betting and gaming in Jammu and Kashmir.
Before the ban, market research firms and probe agencies estimated there were around 220 million Indians on these betting apps, half of them regular users. Experts estimated the online betting app market in India was over $100 billion and growing at 30%. Government told Parliament it has issued 1,524 orders from 2022 to June 2025 to block online betting and gaming platforms.
