The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided on the full 16-member squad of the Bangladesh team for the upcoming three-match ODI confrontation against Afghanistan in the UAE. The series adds to Bangladesh’s resumption in the ODI world after more than three months, having last played the 50-overs international format last July this year in Sri Lanka.
Star all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will continue as captain of the Bangladesh ODI team, while Litton Das finds himself out of the equation due to his ongoing struggles with form and fitness.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz is to captain Bangladesh in the ODI series against Afghanistan scheduled later this month, in accordance with the squad announced by the BCB on Friday, October 3.
Along with the seasoned all-rounder, several other star performers and experienced campaigners, including T20I captain Jaker Ali, pacers Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman, and top-order batter Najmul Hossain Shanto, are also expected to feature in the Bangladesh squad for the ODI series against Afghanistan. Here is a look at the complete Bangladesh squad for the ODI series against Afghanistan.
The Bangladesh cricket team will meet Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series from Wednesday, October 8, through Thursday, October 14. All three matches will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
Currently, under the captaincy of Jaker Ali, the Bangladesh side is in the midst of the T20I leg of the white-ball tour of the UAE. Bangladesh came from behind to win the series-opening first T20I in Sharjah by four wickets, much to the chagrin of Rashid Khan.
