The IPL has announced the release of players for the 2026 season, and the final players’ list will be prepared on November 15. As the teams are getting ready for the IPL 2026 auction, the fans’ curiosity will be on which players their preferred franchise will keep.
The situation of the mini auction is to such an extent that, the teams with the biggest purse get to be the king. They have the best chance of getting top players from a pool that has limited options. Here we consider which team might enter the auction with the highest purse after the final IPL released players 2026 list.
Highest Purse for the 2026 Auction
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
CSK is expected to have multiple high-profile players in their released players’ list for 2026 after the disastrous last season. Some of the main players missing from the CSK’s retained players in 2026 are:
- Devon Conway – INR 6.25 crore
- Rachin Ravindra – INR 4 crore
- Sam Curran – INR 2.40 crore
- Jamie Overton – INR 1.50 crore
- Deepak Hooda – INR 1.70 crore
- Vijay Shankar – INR 1.20 crore
- Rahul Tripathi – INR 3.40 crore
With these players being released, CSK’s savings would amount to INR 15.45 crore. Ravichandran Ashwin, whom they purchased for INR 9.75 crore, has retired from IPL. Include a couple of fringe players, and CSK’s budget will be around INR 27 crore.
Delhi Capitals (DC)
Delhi Capitals had a fabulous first part in the IPL 2025 but very quickly in the latter half they vanished and consequently, they were not among the top 4. After that season, they might have to make some difficult choices for the IPL 2026 auction. The Delhi Capitals released players 2026 list might contain:
- T Natarajan – INR 10.75 crore
- Jake Fraser-McGurk – INR 9 crore
- F du Plessis – INR 2 crore
Besides these, DC will also have some newcomers among the released IPL players 2026 list. Harry Brook (INR 6.25 crore) had pulled out, while Sediqullah Atal was signed as a replacement for INR 1.25 crore. Overall, Delhi Capitals may have a total of about INR 28 crore as their net amount.
Gujarat Titans (GT)
Gujarat Titans were a semi-final contender in the last season but finally lost in the Eliminator. They had several underachievers or players that were not given a chance. Gujarat Titans IPL released players 2026 list will have:
- Gerald Coetzee – INR 2.40 crore
- Glenn Phillips – INR 2 crore
- Mahipal Lomror – INR 1.70 crore
Titans prefers to keep their squad as it is and not change much. This is why the possibility of them parting with any of the star players, for that matter, is slim. If all goes as per the stars, they could have a budget of around INR 7 crore after the IPL released players 2026 list is decided.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
The 2024 champs – Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had a mix of highs and lows this year as their chemistry did not work out. They had multiple issues in their paths and will cut some players. The team will not let go of Iyer, Russell, and Narine, no matter if they have high prices and/or are old. The KKR released players 2026 list will consist of:
- Anrich Nortje – INR 6.50 crore
- Quinton de Kock – INR 3.60 crore
- Spencer Johnson – INR 2.80 crore
- Rahmanullah Gurbaz – INR 2 crore
- Moeen Ali – INR 2 crore
These elite players together with a handful of the not-so-mainstream ones will get KKR approximately INR 18 crore as their budget.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) experienced a roller-coaster ride in IPL 2025, having a terrific first half but then collapsing later which led to their failure for the playoffs. They had a whole bunch of players not performing well and they will probably let them go. The following is the tentative LSG released players 2026 list:
- Mayank Yadav – INR 11 crore
- Ravi Bishnoi – INR 11 crore
- Akash Deep – INR 8 crore
- David Miller – INR 7.50 crore
Add a few peripheral players to this list and LSG could enter the IPL 2026 auction with a budget of approximately INR 39 crore. Based on our calculations, LSG would have the second largest money bag.
Mumbai Indians (MI)
Mumbai Indians is a team that does not usually go for drastic changes. Their mini auctions are mostly silent. This time around too, they might do the same as they are likely to keep most of the players. The list of the Mumbai Indians released players 2026 could possibly include:
- Deepak Chahar – INR 9.25 crore
- Will Jacks – INR 5.25 crore
- Reece Topley – INR 75 lakhs
- Lizaad Williams – INR 75 lakhs
Will Jacks is not an easy decision but he might be let go in order to create a budget. These four together with the other marginal players could give the Mumbai Indians a budget of about INR 18 crore.
Punjab Kings (PBKS)
Punjab Kings were the last season’s runners-up and don’t need to change their squad too much. A few may be let go to increase the purse. Here is the list of Punjab Kings released players 2026:
- Marcus Stoinis – INR 11 crore
- Glenn Maxwell – INR 4.20 crore
- Azmatullah Omarzai – INR 2.40 crore
- Lockie Ferguson – INR 2 crore
Letting go of these big names would still leave PBKS with some cash to buy new players. They could then have a total budget of INR 20 crore which is quite good for the purpose.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have become IPL champions breaking their trophy drought last season. The team is under the guidance of an extraordinary coach in Andy Flower and has a very smart and powerful squad to continue with them. It is unreasonable for the team to replace or discard their core group just before a mini auction. The players to be released by RCB in 2026 could be:
- Liam Livingstone – INR 8.75 crore
- Rasikh Salam – INR 6 crore
- Lungi Ngidi – INR 1 crore
RCB might use a total of INR 17 crore for auction in IPL 2026 after releasing a limited number of players.
Rajasthan Royals (RR)
Rajasthan Royals lost a number of close matches last season and they finished ninth. The situation has not been good in the team and along with some other players, Sanju Samson is also expected to leave the franchise. Here is the likely Rajasthan Royals released players 2026 list:
- Sanju Samson – INR 18 crore
- Shimron Hetmyer – INR 11 crore
- Tushar Deshpande – INR 6.50 crore
- Wanindu Hasaranga – INR 5.25 crore
- Maheesh Theekshana – INR 4.40 crore
The Royals will have up to INR 47 crore for the upcoming auction if they confirm the released players 2026 IPL list. If they don’t trade Samson before that, they may end up having the biggest auction purse.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), under Pat Cummins, made it to the final in 2024 but this year they couldn’t even make it to the playoffs. There have been talks about the releasing of Heinrich Klaasen but that doesn’t seem to be the case. The SRH possible released players 2026 list could be:
- Mohammed Shami – INR 10 crore
- Rahul Chahar – INR 3.20 crore
- Adam Zampa – INR 2.40 crore
- Simarjeet Singh – INR 1.50 crore
Ahead of the auction, Sunrisers may have around INR 17 crore left in their purse after all the cut down players have been taken care of.
