The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 has begun and such young players along with the old-timers Karun Nair are making their presence felt with heavy runs. While the format of the tournament keeps on testing players, there are still some batsmen and bowlers who prefer to take the rough path with their respective skills.
As always, the Ranji tournament has been one of the breeding grounds for the scouting of talents by the IPL franchises, which has seen players like Andre Siddharth and Shardul Thakur getting franchises selected for the mega tournament.
There are many players, who have given great performances on both fronts, bat and ball, but the three players are mentioned that can still create a storm on the IPL 2026 auction table.
1. Abhinav Tejrana
24-year-old Abhinav Tejrana is a rising star of Ranji Trophy who is currently leading the tournament with 651 runs scored from 8 innings. The Goa cricketer has made his debut in Ranji this year in October and has not looked back since then with his explosive but at the same time gritty knocks.
Tejrana has already scored three hundreds, including a double hundred in his very first match against Chandigarh. The batter is showing the potential and can be a great pick as he already has an average of 93 in Ranji.
If KKR, CSK, and DC are the teams that want to secure him if the kid is allowed to go for the IPL 2026 auction.
2. Saransh Jain
Saransh Jain can become a strong all-rounder for any team if he is given a slot in the IPL 2026 auction. The offie is handy with the bat too, though his batting may not be the most scintillating.
Jain has scored centuries batting at 7, 8, and 9 for his state side Madhya Pradesh and has been domestic cricket’s leading wicket-taker among spinners. He has the flighted deliveries, quick turns and deceptive spins which make him invisible to the middle-order batsmen.
Based on the current scenario, he could be the finest selection to replace Ravichandran Ashwin at CSK. It is obvious that other teams such as PBKS and GT would also be interested in the 32-year-old player who is part of Central Zone team.
3. Kartik Sharma
19-year-old Kartik Sharma, who was born in Rajasthan, has been part of the CSK camp several times but has not yet signed up for the IPL auction. If he does, he will certainly be a very sought-after player among the franchises. Kartik is a wicketkeeper-batter for his state team and an aggressive attacker.
In the Ranji Trophy, Kartik Sharma hit 16 sixes in just 6 innings and also recently made a century against Mumbai in the ongoing tournament.
The teams like RCB, KKR, and even CSK will not want to lose the player, mainly because RCB has disposed of the top-order batsmen like Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway. A player like Kartik who can play at 4, 5, and 6 will surely be a steal in the auction.
