The world’s biggest T20 league’s mega auction will take place before the next season of the Indian Premier League. The biggest thing before the auction is which player might get retention and which players will appear in the auction. Maxwell, a batting all rounder, made his IPL debut for Delhi Capitals against Kolkata Riders at Eden Gardens on April 5, 2012, and played his last IPL match against Rajasthan Royals at Narendra Modi Stadium on May 22, 2024.
In his IPL career he has been part of 134 matches where he has batted in the 129 Innings and has accumulated a total of the 2,771 runs with a highest score of 95 and an average of 24.74.He has hit 18 half centuries, 232 fours and 160 with a strike rate of 156.73. This was all about his batting prowess.

Handling on the bowling duties this player has been part of the 79 innings where he has bowled 944 balls and has conceded a total of 1303 runs and has taken 37 wickets in his career. He maintains an economy rate of 8.28, an average of 35.22, and a strike rate of 25.51.
RCB Retained player list for IPL 2025
Notably, Maxwell was brought in by RCB in the auction of 2021 for a big amount of 14.25 core INR. Maxwell performed brilliantly in that season and scored 513 runs from 15 matches, including 6 half centuries. In the next season Maxwell was not able to continue his last year’s performance and scored 301 runs with bat from 13 matches and only registered one half century. In 2023, Maxwell was retained by RCB, and the veteran Aussie bounced back with a 400 run season with the bat, including 5 half centuries.
The retention of the Glenn Maxwell before the 2025 mega auction is highly dependent on the retention policy and right to match card availability. Royal Challengers Bengaluru has two big all-rounders in their team other than Glenn Maxwell.
