The ongoing domestic regional TNPL 2024 is moving to its conclusion after a month full of thrill filled cricket matches. The tournament has completed its league stage and now is moving toward the playoff stage.
After completing 28 league stage matches the top four teams on the TNPL Points table are now qualified to play the semi final or knockout matches of the league. The semi final schedule of this season will begin on the 30th July 2024 and will end on August 2, 2024 after 3 matches being the Eliminator, Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2.
Following 3 days semi final schedule the TNPL 2024 will move to its final stage of the tournament which is scheduled to take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on 4th August 2024. The final of the season will be a tussle between the top two teams who will get in head to head battle for lifting the ultimate trophy of the eight season.
TNPL 2024 Semi-Finals
A Total of 8 teams participated in the eighth edition of the TNPL, out of which only top four teams on the points table standing have qualified for the Semi-Final stage of the tournament. Following a total of 28 matches, Lyca Kovai Kings, IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, Chepauk Super Gillies and Dindigul Dragons have made it to the playoffs of the tournament. Now these teams will get in a head to head battle from 30th July to 2 August 2024 Following a three matches from where only two teams will make it to the final of the season which is scheduled to take place on the 4th August 2024.

All the semi final matches will be played with a rest day each. The Qualifier1 and the Eliminator match will be played on the grounds of the NPR College Ground, Dindigul and later on the winner of the Eliminator and Loser of the Qualifier 1 match will get on the head to head in the challenger match scheduled to take place on the 2 August 2024. The winner of this challenger match will join the winner of Qualifier 1 in the final of the tournament.
TNPL 2024: Semi-Final Teams
Qualifier1: Lyca Kovai Kings vs IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans
The first encounter of the semi final of the eight season of the TNPL is scheduled to take place on the 30 th July 2024. Lyca Kovai Kings will face the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans for the second time in the season. So far both the teams have played a total of 7 matches where the Lyca has won 6 and Tamizhans have only won 4 of 7 matches it played. Winner of this Qualifier match will directly head to the Final of the tournament.
Eliminator: Chepauk Super Gillies vs Dindigul Dragons
Both the teams will take on each other in the eliminator match of the TNPL 2024. As per the TNPL Points table 2024 the CSG(Gillies) have finished on the third spot and R Ashwin lead Dindigul Dragons have finished at the fourth spot. Winner of the Eliminator match will go against the loser of the Qualifier 1 in the challenger match to ultimately qualify for the finale of the TNPL 2024.
Challenger Match: IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans vs Dindigul Dragons
The challenger match would be the match that would see the winner of the Eliminator match and the loser of the Qualifier match. Winner of the challenger match then will advance to the finale of the TNPL 2024. The teams for the Challenger match are yet to be announced as the first two matches of the TNPL Semi Final are yet to be played. With the conclusion of the semi final on 2 August the tournament will move to the last stage of this season, the finale of the TNPL 2024. The winner of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 will be the two finalists that would lock horns for the ultimate trophy after battling in a total of 31 matches.
