Mahatma Gandhi’s words were echoed by Ambati Rayudu, who called for compassion and reminded everyone not to forget our shared humanity as tensions between India and Pakistan escalate.
Just recently, aerial bombarding of Jammu and a few military stations near the western border was carried out by Pakistan, but India’s air defense systems foiled this attempt, which involved drones and missiles that blacked out alarms in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. The authorities ordered people to stay indoors and be alert until emergency measures were put in place.
These acts of aggression seem to be in retaliation against Operation Sindoor, wherein the Indian Armed Forces targeted terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir some two weeks after the terror attack at Pahalgam that took 26 lives.

This isn’t about being weak; it’s about being wise. Justice is important, but we mustn’t forget to be humane. We can love our country fiercely and still have compassion. Patriotism and peace can go together.”

On Thursday, there was a power cut in some areas like Pathankot and Amritsar following air raid alarms and reports of explosions in Jammu. An impact could definitely be felt in the cricketing world when the IPL 2025 match between PBKS and DC was called off halfway due to air-raid alerts in the neighbouring cities. The fans were then safely evacuated from the stadium in Dharamsala, which has a capacity of about 23,000.
With the cancellation of the proceedings, it is almost impossible for the IPL to proceed under this stormy atmosphere. Currently, the BCCI is holding talks regarding all security issues brought about by the foreign players associated with the league.
