On June 3, the West Indies Cricket Board announced their team for two upcoming T20 series. They’ll play three matches against England from June 6 to 10, followed by another three games against Ireland from June 12 to 15. They’ve brought back two seasoned all-rounders, Andre Russell and Jason Holder.
Andre is back after missing last year’s T20 series against England due to an injury; he’ll only be playing in the series against England. Jason is also returning to the T20 squad for the first time since February this year. Their experience will be a boost to the team, which will now be led by new T20 captain, Shai Hope. Nicholas Pooran, a key player, has asked for a break after his time in the IPL, so he won’t be joining the squad for the England or Ireland matches.
