Anil Kumble, the former Indian cricketer, said if he was with the Indian team management, he would tell Jasprit Bumrah to play the next two matches against England. These games are at Old Trafford and Kennington Oval. England just needs to win one more match to win the series.
Ravindra Jadeja and the tailenders saved India. But they couldn’t beat England captain Ben Stokes. India lost by 22 runs in the third match at Lord’s.
Before the series started, the Indian team management had decided that Bumrah would play only three matches in England to manage his workload.
India lost the third match. Kumble asked head coach Gautam Gambhir to tell Bumrah to play at Old Trafford. He warned that India would definitely lose without Bumrah.
Kumble spoke on JioHotstar and said he would push Bumrah to play the next game because it’s important. He added if Bumrah doesn’t play and India loses, the series is over.
Kumble thinks Bumrah should play both games. He knows Bumrah said he would only play three matches, but there’s a long break after this. Bumrah doesn’t need to play the home series; he can take a break if he wants.
The fourth match is on July 23 at Old Trafford, so there’s a week-long break. Right now, India hasn’t announced its plans for Bumrah.
