Hardik Pandya will have a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on August 11 and 12. This is a must before the India squad is announced for the Asia Cup 2025. He has been training in Mumbai since mid July.
Pandya is a key player in India’s recent T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy wins. The team is counting on him for the Asia Cup which starts on September 9.
According to The Times of India, Pandya’s assessment will be in Bengaluru on August 11 and 12. The report said Shreyas Iyer completed his fitness assessment between July 27 and 29.
Iyer recently led Punjab Kings to the IPL 2025 final. Just a year ago he led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their third title. He hasn’t played T20Is since December 2023. Will he make the cut for the upcoming tournament?
Suryakumar Yadav, India’s T20I captain, is still recovering from sports hernia surgery. He will spend another week at the NCA. He recently posted a video on Instagram showing him back to batting practice.
He will be under the watchful eyes of the physios and the medical team. The Men’s Asia Cup starts on September 9, India plays their first match against UAE on September 10.
The Indian T20I captain should be back in time to lead the team in the upcoming eight team tournament. Last week Suryakumar Yadav posted an Instagram video showing his return to the NCA.
The right handed batter last played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 season. He had a great run with the bat, scoring 717 runs. He was the second highest run scorer of the season, only behind Sai Sudharsan of Gujarat Titans who won the Orange Cap.

The Asia Cup is confirmed to be held in UAE from September 9 to 28, with matches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. India is in Group A with Pakistan and will play their first match against UAE on September 10. The two teams could play each other up to three times.
