In the ICC Future Tours Programme (FTP), Bangladesh Women’s cricket team has planned a trip to India for the white-ball series in the middle of December. A BCB official has confirmed the news, but the exact dates have not yet been decided.
BCB official provides a draft plan for the India tour
It seems that the women from Bangladesh will be coming to India for a series of white-ball matches, consisting of three ODIs and three T20s. As per the information shared by a BCB official to Cricbuzz on Thursday, the series will take place in the middle of December 2025. The ODI part of the tour will be the starting point of the new ICC Women’s ODI Championship cycle for both teams. The whole white-ball series will be included in the ICC Future Tours Programme (FTP).
“As per the outlined draft which is still to be approved by the two boards, we are likely to start our journey on December 14 or 15 for the tour; however, the host side has requested us to prepare for the series taking that date into account,” said the BCB official who is involved in the planning.
The tour program is not finalized yet, but it is expected that the games will take place in Kolkata and Cuttack. The negotiations between the two boards are ongoing.
Fitness issue leading Bangladesh captain miss NCL scenario
Bangladesh, by the way, are already out of the present-day World Cup, whereas India is preparing for the final match with South Africa. Bangladesh, in the ICC Women’s World Cup, has a record of only one win in seven matches which places them at the bottom in the ranking of eight teams. Conversely, India overcame Australia in the semifinals and reached their third ODI World Cup final.
In the case of the women’s team from Bangladesh, the captain Nigar Sultana has already made a declaration that she would not participate in the National Cricket League for the upcoming matches and that she would be concentrating on her fitness instead. According to sources, the left-arm spinner Nahida Akter and the fast bowler Marufa Akter will also be absent from the tournament. Nahida suffered an injury during the ongoing ODI World Cup while Marufa would take a break from the workload of the tournament.
