BCCI is working hard for differently-abled cricketers. Recently, Centre of Excellence (CoE) created an online course for former differently-abled cricketers, both men and women.
According to TOI’s Gaurav Gupta, VVS Laxman, head of cricket at BCCI’s CoE, wrote to Ravi Chauhan, general secretary of Differently Abled Cricket Council (DCCI), that BCCI will soon start a Level 0 e-Learning course for DCCI coaches.
The course will be fully online. After completing the course, candidates can apply for BCCI CoE Level 1 coach certification. Laxman asked Chauhan to nominate 50 people for the program, a big moment for BCCI.
Ravi Chauhan told TOI he was thrilled about this. This is a great opportunity for our cricketers to improve their coaching skills and qualifications. Like other cricketers, our differently-abled cricketers will now get the benefit of BCCI certified coaching course, Chauhan said.

This big step by BCCI will also help differently-abled cricketers grow and get recognition all over the country, as state cricket associations start their own differently-abled cricket committees. With everything in place, BCCI’s coaching program also looks after former differently-abled players.
