On Monday, a few venue changes were announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for some important forthcoming cricket matches, and there are quite a few details to be discussed. First suspected to the India Men’s team, the BCCI revealed that the first Test match between India and South Africa, scheduled for November 14, 2025, at New Delhi, will now be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The good news for all fans is that they have to mark this on their calendars as it is a venue voted by the crowd.
In accordance with any other changes, the second Test against West Indies, which was supposed to be held at Eden Gardens, has been shifted to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. While this might somewhat confound the preparations for the players, both venues have a rich history of important matches.
But there is more! The women’s teams ohave also faced a tussle for venue changes. The IDFC First Bank ODI Series between the Indian Women and the Australian Women was to be held at Chennai; however, owing to maintenance work being conducted on the outfield and the pitches of the MA Chidambaram Stadium at Chennai, these matches have to be relocated.
